Mini No 24

The two male Crooligans from this set I decided to paint like Tweedledee and Tweedledum from Alice in Wonderland. I hope that the colour palette will make the characters recognizable.

I pinned the feet of the minis and primed them in black. Which was kind of a mistake since the yellow I have is very thin and doesn’t at all go well over black.

I started with blocking in some colours. Red pants with a dark red wash to deepen the shadows some more.

Just keep chugging along. Added the yellow and blue. The yellow is on there super thick and I think  I lost some detail just because of the amount of layers I had to do.

Finally I added some more watches, highlights and skin and hair! I think all that really pulls the minis together. I really like how they turned out.

Rushing through these really made me note some mistakes and things to work on. Firstly, I lay primer on really thick even when it doesn’t need it. Thats something I really need to get in check. Also, my shading needs serious work. Its messy and  rushed and not at all clean.
