Mini No 26

This is Philip and the Nanny, Philips head is in the buggy. Since the Queen of Hearts says “Off with their heads” I thought this would be a fitting mini to represent her. Since the mini has a lot of black I decided to prime her in black.

First I started with blocking in the red parts and shading them. This was the awkward part, as you can see the dress for the queen of hearts of very structures so there were lots of decisions to make about what to make what colour.

Time to add the yellow! I decided to take the buggy off, it was silly of me to have glued it on in the first place. I also added the white. I really wanted the white to stay clean and crisp so I didn’t shade that part at all.

Time to finish up the details on the buggy. I used the same colours as on the Queen of Hearts but added blue to the blanket inside. The buggy was actually a lot if fun to paint.

Finally, as usual, time to add last details. Brown to the wheels, silver detail, skin and hair. I rushed this one a lot and could clearly have done a lot better. But, I also didn’t care all that much about this mini, so that may have had something to do with it.

Lesson learned, take your time and paint things you love.
