Next up we have Crimean Khanate which is the yellow faction in Scythe. The character and animal companion are super awesome, a woman in an iconic dress and a bird. I wanted each faction to be distinct and represent the colours that they were so I tried to stay  with the original colours that the figures came as.

I primed everything white. I learned my lesson that yellow doesnt go over other colours well at all. And painted the figure yellow, then I added the metallic parts and gray in the wheel.

I also added a black wash to make it look super gritty and dirty and oil stained.

I added a bunch of battle damage. I again drilled holes into the figure to make it look like it was shot, added gashes and wear and tear.

Basing is my favorite part of painting minis, I really think it ties a mini together and finishes it. With these figures I tried to get tall grass and flowers on the base. Also I added crushed, muddy grass, to the wheel, as the mech has been traveling through fields.

Time to start working on the character.

Again I was disappointed with the quality of the sculpt. There is very little texture to help with painting the details of the miniature.

I had to paint and repaint this figure several time before I was mildly happy with the look of it. I was sad because the figure looks so great and has potential but the sculpt really let it down.

In the end I feel like I did the best I could for the skill and time that I had available. But I really need to start now how to manually shade and highlight minis.
